A Smarter Refrigerator Solution for Tesla Model Y Owners
A side-wall refrigerator solution designed to feel more integrated with Tesla Model Y—Y16 for Model Y (2020–2024), and Y17 for Model Y Juniper (2025+) coming in May.
The Tesla Model Y is a vehicle that naturally fits into more parts of everyday life than most people expect. It works just as well for daily commuting as it does for weekend drives, family errands, and longer road trips.
As that use expands, convenience starts to matter more. Cold drinks on the way home, fresh snacks during a long drive, or ready-to-go storage for short outdoor trips all become part of the ownership experience.
For us, the question was never just how to add refrigeration to a Tesla. It was how to make it feel more naturally integrated with the vehicle itself.
That thinking is what led us to a side-wall refrigerator approach for Model Y—one that keeps the experience cleaner, more usable, and more in tune with the vehicle’s design.

Why a Side-Wall Refrigerator Makes Sense for Model Y
One of the biggest advantages of a side-wall refrigerator design is that it works with the layout of the vehicle in a more intentional way.
For Model Y owners, usable cargo space matters. So does convenience. So does maintaining the clean, organized feel that makes the vehicle enjoyable to live with every day.
A side-wall installation approach helps support all three.
It keeps the refrigerator positioned within the vehicle in a way that feels more integrated. It helps preserve the practicality of the main trunk area. And it creates a solution that is easier to keep in the car as part of daily life, rather than something that feels temporary or out of place.
Just as importantly, this kind of layout is better aligned with how Tesla owners think about accessories: not just as add-ons, but as products that should work with the vehicle’s design and space planning.

Built Around Everyday Model Y Use
A refrigerator in a Tesla should make daily ownership feel easier, not more complicated.
For some owners, that means having chilled drinks ready after a commute or workout. For others, it means keeping fruit, snacks, or simple food items in the car during family errands and longer drives. And for weekend use, it adds another layer of convenience to road trips, outdoor stops, and flexible day plans.
What makes the side-wall concept especially meaningful is that it supports these real scenarios without changing the basic usability of the vehicle. The car still feels like a Model Y first—clean, practical, and well organized—while gaining an added function that fits naturally into the experience.

Y16 for Model Y (2020–2024), and What Comes Next
The Y16 is our dedicated side-wall refrigerator solution for Tesla Model Y (2020–2024).
But as more owners begin looking toward Model Y Juniper (2025+), it became clear that the next generation deserved its own dedicated solution as well.
When the vehicle platform changes, the right refrigerator solution should evolve with it—not only in fitment, but also in how it supports new expectations for convenience, control, and overall integration.
That is why we have also been developing the Y17, designed specifically for Model Y Juniper (2025+), with launch planned for May.

Coming in May: The Upgraded Y17 for Model Y Juniper (2025+)
The Y17 continues the same side-wall refrigerator philosophy, but for the new Model Y Juniper (2025+) platform—with a more advanced feature set built around the updated vehicle and next-generation user expectations.
Compared with the earlier generation, the Y17 is designed to bring a more complete ownership experience through a series of upgrades.
It features a larger 17L capacity, making the side-wall layout even more practical for real daily use. It also introduces a smart control knob and Applet / app Bluetooth control, giving owners a more flexible way to manage settings and monitor the refrigerator.
For broader everyday use, the Y17 is designed with both cooling and heating modes, supporting more driving and travel scenarios across different seasons. It also adds parked power support, helping owners maintain convenience even when the vehicle is stationary.
From a structural and user-experience standpoint, the Y17 also includes the GlideLock™ patented latch for easier installation and removal, along with a more developed functional system that supports smarter, more integrated use.
In short, if the Y16 represents the side-wall refrigerator concept for Model Y (2020–2024), the Y17 represents a more evolved version of that same idea for Model Y Juniper (2025+).

Which Refrigerator Fits Your Model Y?
If you drive a Tesla Model Y (2020–2024), the Y16 is the side-wall refrigerator designed for your vehicle.
If you drive a Model Y Juniper (2025+), the Y17 is the upgraded next-generation solution, launching in May.
For us, that clarity matters. A refrigerator solution should not only fit the vehicle physically. It should also fit the ownership experience of that specific generation.
At TEMAI, we believe refrigeration for Tesla should be approached as part of the vehicle experience—not just as an added function.
That belief shaped the Y16 for Model Y (2020–2024), and it continues into the Y17 for Model Y Juniper (2025+), coming in May.
Both are built around the same core idea: using side-wall integration to make refrigeration feel cleaner, smarter, and more aligned with how Tesla owners actually use their vehicles.
